As we continue our revival podcast series on 5 Attributes of Preaching Found in the Book of Acts, we left off with a post about preaching that applies to the hearers. Today, we are going to take another look at preaching in the book of Acts, which is: Preaching that is Authentic.
We, as preachers of the Gospel must always remember that we are but mere men with the calling of God on our life. Without God, we are nothing. Therefore, we ought not to think of ourselves as anything special or better than anyone else. We see this attribute in the life of the Apostle Paul. He knew exactly who he was in the eyes of God. Because of such a self-realization, he was able to relate to his hearers. We are going to learn about being an authentic preacher from the Apostle Paul’s farewell address. Enjoy!
Scripture Used: Acts 20:25-31
Points Made:
- He made personal relationships
- He understood his responsibility
- He preached all of the Word of God to feed people
- He warned of false teaching
- He did it out of love
