The Preacher Behind Plea For Power
My name is Estevan Montoya. I am an Independent Baptist Preacher that started the Mountain View Baptist Church in Taos, NM. God has led me to Northern New Mexico with a desire to see a genuine Bible based revival take place in an area filled with religious tradition and false beliefs. Starting a church from scratch is not easy. I quickly learned who I was and Who God is. It was at a point of humility that God taught me His plan and desire to use me in Taos, NM. This blog is the diary of What God has taught me and still teaching me as I endeavor to serve Jesus as He builds His church through the Preaching of the Word of God.
Many great books have been written on the subject of revival. Great sermons have been preached as well. It is not my desire to change anything. This site is simply me expressing what God is doing, and how He will bring revival to Northern New Mexico.
Our Stand
Plea for Power is a website that is dedicated to promoting revival and evangelism with the power of the ‘posted’ word. This site will be maintained by Independent Baptists that hold to the King James Bible. This site will also be used to help preachers network. Many times people look for a listing of like minded ministries, and have a hard time finding them because the web is filled with other doctrines.
List of Doctrines Plea For Power Believes:
- Bible – God inspired holy men of old to pen the Bible. Hold to its inspiration, preservation, and purity. Hold to the King James Version of the Bible as the Word of God.
- Godhead – Hold to truth of the Word of God in the doctrine of the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Though three are present, they are equal and one. As man has three parts; spirit, soul, and body, so is God, being that man was made in His image.
- Salvation – Salvation is the only way for man to be made righteous in the eye’s of God. That God provided a means of Salvation by Jesus Christ. One must understand his condition of his sinfulness, turn (repent) to Jesus as only means of having sin forgiven. Believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again on the third day, and that Gospel is the ONLY hope for mankind. This Gospel is a choice that man makes to believe or disbelieve. God offers to all, but man must personally receive it.
- The Church - Jesus started His church while on earth during His earthly ministry. This church is a local visible assembly of baptized believers. The church has continued through the ages with many different names, but the church that holds to the doctrine of the New Testament church is the Baptist church. The church is in submission to Jesus Christ, as He is the Head, but God has called men to be pastors to lead the church.
- Separation – God’s people are to live a separated life from the world. Things such as fornication, drinking, drugs, gambling, and bad music should be avoided because it is considered sinful in the eyes of God. Not only should believers live separated lives, but the church should separate from other churches that teach false doctrine, promote worldliness, and are ecumenical.
- 2nd Coming – After Jesus ascended, He left His promise that He would return to establish His 1,000 reign. This return will be preceded by the rapture of the saved and a seven year tribulation. The hour or day is not known by man, but by God alone.
- Creation – God created the earth, universe, and all that is seen in a literal seven day week. It was during this time that all on earth was made, including mankind. God did not use the process of evolution to make any part of the earth.
