3 Types Of Preaching Sermons: Part 1 Topical Sermons

When I first started preaching (16 years old), I was a very basic preacher. I had heart and  I tried to use the Bible as much as possible. God blessed, and I remember the first time I preached, someone got saved. I remember how happy I was to be used by God. I remember that I began to grow as a preacher, and God continued to bless. I believe God wants to use His people, and if someone steps up, He’ll bless their efforts. Though I was used by God, I find that I have changed in my style of preaching. As God teaches me, I find the constant item that never changes, His Word. It is mainly because of His Word we find God blessing our efforts! Continue Reading…

The High Cost of Revival

Cost of Revival

Everything in life has a price. Food, clothing, housing, fun, sickness, needs, wants, etc. There is nothing free in life. Someone somewhere has to pay for the things we receive. Even the things that are given to us had to be paid for by the giver. Continue Reading…

Out Of The Pit – Why I Am Glad To Be Saved

Out Of The Pit
Ps 40:1 ¶ <<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Psalm 40:1-3

2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Continue Reading…

What I Learned At A Conference For Pastors

Year-of-the-bilble-560x374

I had the opportunity to go with my family, a couple of preachers, great members from our church, and friends. To some of those with us, it was a first time for them. They loved it! There was great preaching, music, and fellowship for all who attended. Continue Reading…

How Preaching With Power Changes Lives

dreamstime_3197138

I don’t know any God called preacher of the Gospel that doesn’t want to make a difference for Glory of God and to help people get saved. After seeing and hearing many different preachers, it can be said that we want the power of God, so we can see God do a work in the hearts and lives of those to whom we preach.

Though we want to make a difference, sometimes our efforts are confused with results, and we look to programs. The result driven ministry will eventually compromise and lose the Power of God. If we are to see God do a work that will bring “fruit that remains”, then we must follow the way He designed, Bible Preaching. This type of preaching in a church will have the Power of God. It may not go the way we planned, but it will be true to His purpose, and will have His Power.

We find a perfect example of preaching with power found in the books of Acts. The entire book is filled examples like the outline below, but I like to draw some principles from the 2nd chapter of Acts. Continue Reading…
